Ann, Carl Myers donate $350K for new mental health clinic in Avon

The Spectator - 1/11/2021

Jan. 11—DANSVILLE — The Foundation for Noyes Health on Monday announced a donation of $350,000 from Ann and Carl Myers of Springwater. The donation matches a previous grant of $348,500 from New York state to partially fund the construction of an out-patient mental health clinic in Avon, an expansion of Noyes Health's current Health and Wellness clinic in Dansville.

The Myers' previously donated $2 million to the capital campaign to build a cancer treatment center at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Since the Ann and Carl Myers Cancer Center opened in January 2017, the Center has seen more than 10,000 medical and radiation oncology visits a year, with patients from all over the Genesee Valley and beyond getting the expert care of UR Medicine's Wilmot Cancer Institute.

"We are so grateful for Ann and Carl's continued support of our efforts to provide the best possible healthcare to our community, as close as possible to where we all live and work," said Amy Pollard, RN, BSN, MPS, Noyes Health President and CEO. "Increased access to mental health resources are more important today than ever, and the Myers generous gift will ensure that residents in northern Livingston County will have that access."

The new mental health clinic in Avon will be built on a lot conveniently located just off I-390, and will include consultation rooms and offices for on-site counselors, as well as walk-in crisis management services.

With the grant from the State and the Myers' donation in hand, the Foundation for Noyes Health will begin a capital campaign in February 2021 to raise and cover the remaining $150,000 in construction costs. Details will follow at a later date.

"The Myers have shown their commitment to this community over and over again," said Tom Wamp, chair of the Foundation for Noyes Health. "Their donation is inspiring, and will generate additional community support to fully fund the project moving forward."
